Our Story

Idha began with curiosity before it became a business.

Growing up in Delhi with roots in South India, Kanjivaram silk always felt familiar. Yet it was while searching for my own wedding saree that I began to truly appreciate the artistry behind a Kanjivaram saree. What first appeared to be a beautiful silk saree revealed itself as something far more intricate, a tradition shaped by generations of knowledge, patience, and attention to detail.

This curiosity led me to explore the world of silk more deeply.

Before the first Idha collection was curated, I spent over a year travelling through weaving towns across Tamil Nadu, learning from weavers, understanding different weaving traditions, exploring silk quality, colour combinations, traditional techniques, and the subtle details that distinguish an exceptional Kanjivaram.

These experiences changed the way I viewed silk and shaped the foundation of Idha.

Today, Idha is a boutique dedicated to authentic Kanjivaram silk sarees that honour this tradition while speaking to the woman who appreciates thoughtful design, enduring quality, and refined elegance.
